About

A career spent inside the systems that run landscape operations.

Darik Foster

Principal · Operations & Technology

I’ve spent my career on the operations and technology side of the green industry. I started inside a mid-size commercial landscape company, and that’s where I learned how this work actually gets done — it’s still the lens I bring to every engagement. From there I moved into managing applications across a private-equity-backed portfolio of landscape brands, running the same problems across many companies at once instead of one at a time. Doing it once teaches you the system. Doing it across a portfolio shows you which setups still hold up in year three.

Most of my work has been in and around Aspire — implementation, configuration, standardization, administration, and training — alongside the accounting and field systems it has to live with. I’ve also spent meaningful time on snow operations coordination, which is its own discipline and doesn’t translate cleanly from anything else.

I started this practice because the gap I kept running into wasn’t strategy. Companies usually know what they want the system to do. What they don’t have is someone who will get in and configure it correctly, and who knows the operation well enough to know what correct means.

Where I work

Remote-first across the continental United States and Hawaii, with occasional on-site travel where it genuinely earns its place. Deepest experience in the Pacific Northwest, California, Florida, the Northeast, and Hawaii, plus engagements in Phoenix and Milwaukee.
